In May 2019 VisitLincsCoast staged a 2 day ‘Vintage on Sea’ weekend in Sutton, along the High Street and up the little side roads. It was a roaring success ! and the Bacchus played a large role. We rolled back the clock to the 1940s serving NAFFI type food and cream teas/afternoon teas (as well as the usual scrumptious meals/snacks). Our staff looked great in land girl / waiter outfits and we had special ‘guests’, Appleby Land Girls and ‘Sir Winston’ re-enactors ; the bars were draped in Bunting and playing tunes of the 40s. The Saturday evening featured a ‘Charity’ 1940s/50 live band dance held in the Bacchus Function Room (a sell out) and Sunday we staged a splendid Live Big Band in the Garden!!
Cancelled until further noticeDue to popular demand - It’s happening again this year – so pop a note in your diary, and we will keep you updated.
